Bolton Walking and Outdoors Appreciation Society is a peer to peer community group. Walks are organised and led by individuals who volunteer their free time to take part in the outings.
By ticking the box below, adult participants acknowledge that they are responsible for their own actions and safety, and have a duty of care over any accompanying persons under the age of eighteen at all times during the activity.
Also in ticking the box, the participant fully understands that any activity advertised by Bolton Walking and Outdoors Appreciation Society is NOT A PROFESSIONALLY GUIDED WALK and that no volunteers who assist in organisation, managing the group and navigating on the day are personally or otherwise liable for any accidents, loss of or damage to personal property or any emergency medical care that may be required.
Participants are wholly responsible for their own personal property, personal safety, well being and medical needs, and for any persons under the age of eighteen in their care AT ALL TIMES. Important personal medication should be carried at all times and, where appropriate, a volunteer can be discreetly told of the whereabouts of any such items in the event of an emergency. This includes asthma inhalers and autoinjector pens.
Volunteers and other experienced group members may offer advice during the activity but it should be understood that this IS NOT PROFESSIONAL GUIDANCE from a trained professional. It is up to each individual participant to make judgement any situation where a safety issue may arise.
